The NASA satellite crashed somewhere on the territory of Central America. The unique samples of alien life, which the satellite had discovered within our solar system, were aboard. Soon the new life form began to spread on the territory of Mexico. Therefore a half of Mexico was announced a dangerous zone and quarantined. So is the prehistory of the film “Monsters”. Six years after the accident of global importance, two wanderers intend to cross the infected zone and reach the safety on the adjacent territory of the US. One of them is a journalist; the next one is a tourist.
The innovative film from Gareth Edwards, “Monsters” blends genres of Sci-Fi, drama and romance. It’s curious, that the cast of the film includes only two heroes, played by Scoot McNairy and Whitney Able. The whole crew of the movie consisted from five people, including the filmmaker. The team of Edwards had to cover a considerable distance, travelling through Belize, Guatemala and Mexico. The supporting actors were found, as the team had been passing through the local territories of Central America in search for the places suitable for filming. The film by Garret Edwards is a visually stunning, emotionally rich and groundbreaking project, which will surely find a broad response among the viewers.
